What does trust mean?

Periyaval was talking to the devotees in general."Our ancestors left behind a capital in the form of land, money, orchards and houses so that their descendants continue to do many good deeds. They did so wishing us well and with the concern that their children lead a blessed life. They desired that these good deeds be performed generation after generation from the profits acquired from the capital. But in many places, the charitable deeds that they wished to have performed or stated in their will, do not take place. That money that ought to be spent in charity is spent for the family. This is adharma. Because this is wrong many families that enjoy the property of trusts suffer great deal. It is as if the Ganga that has been brought from Prayaga is poured on the bramble bush by the road."
No sooner did Periyava say this than one of the devotees there began to sob."I shall execute all the charitable deeds mentioned by my ancestors. Periyava must forgive the wrong done so far,"he said .
"I did not say this particularly for your sake. I simply said that in many families, wealth meant for charitable deeds is being put to wrong."
The man who wept, prostrated to Periyaval and stood there,a picture of guilt.
Periyaval called him forward and gave him prasadha in abundance.
